Why this book?

When I was a child, there was a war going on between my country and our neighbors that had reached its ugly phase where bombers raided the city at night. I remember all the windows were covered in newspapers and tape. People believed that by blocking the light, they would not give the bomber pilots visual clues to where the city is. The suppression of light was everyone’s duty. Now, the war is long gone. But people are still, in a sense, suppressing their light to stay safe. We all live in a similar situation. Sometimes, we are afraid of telling the truth. Most often, we’re incentivised not to do so. The story of light is the story of the human condition and struggle for the truth. Without courage and transparency there would be no light. This book is a tool to tear up the newspapers that are covering our windows.
